Trademarking security and how we protect your data
Short answer
Trademarking security covers encryption in transit and at rest, role based access, two factor authentication and regular backups. Customer data is never sold, and Agency adds SSO and an audit log.
- Traffic is encrypted with TLS, and stored data is encrypted at rest.
- Registry data comes from public sources; your own data is never sold.
- Payment card data is handled by our payment processor, not stored by Trademarking.
How data is protected
- Encryption in transit with TLS on every connection.
- Encryption at rest for stored customer data.
- Regular backups so data can be restored.
- Payment card data handled by the payment processor; card numbers never reach our servers.
Who can see what
Access inside your account is assigned by role, so brand teams can search without editing the portfolio. Two factor authentication is available for every user. On the Agency plan, SSO with SAML and an audit log show who signed in and what changed. Compare plans on the pricing page.
Where the data comes from
Search and monitoring results come from public registry data published by offices such as the USPTO, EUIPO, WIPO, UKIPO and UPRP. Your searches, watched marks and portfolio belong to you and are never sold. The limits of registry data are explained in the disclaimer.
Report a vulnerability
If you find a security issue, write to [email protected] with the steps to reproduce it. We review every report and reply with what we found. Teams connecting through the trademark search API can use the same address.
