Trademark search API for agencies and platforms

Short answer

The Trademarking search API takes a name, offices and classes and returns a registration likelihood, ranked conflicts with similarity and official record links, recommended Nice classes and an estimated official fee, as JSON. It is included in the Agency plan.

  • 10,000 API calls per billing period on the Agency plan.
  • Token authentication; keys are managed in the workspace.
  • The same data and scoring as the web app.

What you can build

  • Naming tools that screen generated names before showing them to a client.
  • Brand and e-commerce platforms that warn sellers about risky names.
  • Law firm intake forms that pre-screen a mark before the first call.
  • Internal dashboards that pull watch alerts into your own tools.

A typical request and response

You send the name, the offices (for example USPTO and EUIPO) and optionally the classes. The response contains the likelihood band and percentage, up to the configured number of conflicts with office, number, status, classes and similarity, the recommended classes and a fee estimate per office with the currency and the source of the fee.

The scoring is the same one behind the trademark availability search in the app.

Limits and fair use

Calls count as consumption within your billing period, so deleting results does not return calls. Responses are estimates from public registry data, not legal advice, and should be shown to your users with that note. For portfolio work alongside the API, see trademark management software.

Frequently asked questions

The Agency plan, at 999 USD per month or 499 USD per month billed yearly, with 10,000 calls per period.

The same offices as the app: USPTO, EUIPO, UK IPO, WIPO Madrid, CIPO, IP Australia, UPRP and IP India.
Is there a sandbox?
You can call the API with your keys from the start; every call counts toward the period limit.

General information as of 2026, not legal advice. Trademarking is not a law firm. Official fees are set by each office and paid to the office directly.
